Description of class

This is a chair yoga class for anyone over 50 supported by Age Concern Dacorum. All the class is conducted from a chair or standing. There is no lying or kneeling on the floor.

The class concentrates on relaxation, breathing exercises and gentle stretching. It is not a strong physical workout and is suitable for beginners and those who do not want a strong class.

Those who have attended the class have found that it has a calming and relaxing effect and provides gentle exercise which helps with flexibility and balance.

All the equipment is provided. Students should wear loose clothing so that they can move freely. 

Try out a class
If you have never attended a class before you are very welcome to come along and try out a class.
 
Joining mid term
You will be able to pick up the yoga very quickly and it is perfectly OK to join the class at any time.
 
Venue Description
Situated in its own grounds the Douglas Gardens lounge is warm with a carpeted floor, lovely and peaceful with plenty of natural light, and provides a tranquil and quiet setting to practise yoga.
 
Directions
To get to Douglas Gardens go along Berkhamsted High Street towards Tring. You will eventually come to some traffic lights with the Majestic Wine Warehouse on the right and the sports centre on your left. Continue on towards Tring and take the second left into Durrants Lane. At the roundabout turn left into Durrants Road. At the mini roundabout take the first exit into Douglas Gardens. Pass the sports centre on your right and take the next right. You can either park in this road or the sports centre car park. Take one of the walkways off of this road which lead into a green quadrant and a square of houses. The entrance to Douglas Gardens is on the bottom side of the square.
